Project Description
This 70,000 sq ft building was the first purpose built private hospital in Cork in many decades. It was a venture by John Cleary Development to build a state of the art private hospital in the shortest time ever. Our schedule was 26 weeks over 7 floors with 75 single in-patient bedrooms, all facilities for a modern hospital ie 6 major theatres, MRI, CT and X-ray. Abbeyside brief as project manager and contractor was to carry out all the fit out works to include stud partitions, ceilings, floor coverings, doors and all internal joinery, all fitted bespoke fitted furniture to include the Reception desk made of stone and the centre piece light fitting which hangs down from the centre of the atrium.
To carry out this immense project within the timescale laid down, Abbeyside project managed the fit out by fitting out floor by floor achieving near completion to each floor before moving to the next floor. This was the fastest way to build by design. The identical works were repeated each floor so the momentum built up as we progressed up the building.
